Council Leader in Shock Admission over Job Cuts!

Commenting on yesterday’s Full Council Meeting, Wakefield Council’s Conservative Group Leader, Councillor Mark Crowther said “Yesterday we saw a different Peter Box in the Council Chamber, we saw a man who was clearly rattled and off his game, a man whose feeble and windy rhetoric in defence of his party’s national mismanagement of our economy and the public finances was so easily blown away”
Cllr Crowther went on to say “In the most bizarre exchange of all, a rattled and red-faced Peter Box, made the astonishing admission to the Council that 3,000 jobs locally will be lost, a fact that was swiftly and soundly discredited by the Council’s Chief Executive. Cllr Box who was clearly panicked and under pressure by the force of the Conservative argument must have decided to make himself look clever by making up numbers on the spot and off the top of his head, a fact that made him look more like a anti social school boy who hadn’t done his homework as opposed to a long-serving Council Leader. In an instant he had gone from Mr Box to Mr Bean and had lost all his political credibility”
