Alyson was elected as a Councillor for Horbury & South Ossett in May 2007.

Born in Dewsbury and raised in Ossett she is a respected member of the community.. After completing her education she went on to study at Loughborough University achieving a BA (Hons) in Textiles, and History, Art and Design.

After getting married and having two sons, Alyson found time to completed a course and qualified as a Nursery Nurse.

Alyson also manages a portfolio of properties in the Ossett area.

She has two grown up sons and two grandchildren and is a proud owner of a Jack Russell.

As a Councillor she takes an interest in local Children & OAP’s issues and actively supports local groups in developing facilities for the residents of Horbury and Ossett. She also extends her involvement with the wellbeing of children, taking a special interest in children mental health issues. She also supports West Yorkshire ADHD (Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder) support group.

As a Member of the Ossett Rotary Club she supports many causes for the residents of Ossett. Her interests include Politics, Family Life, Walking and Swimming in the North Sea.
